      <abstract>Compiled geochemical analyses are included in the geodatabase. Descriptive rock unit names for igneous rocks are based on normalized major element analyses plotted on the total alkalis (Na2O + K2O) versus silica (SiO2) diagram (TAS).This feature class does not have any cartographic representations associated with its features.</abstract>
      <purpose>This feature class represents point locations where whole-rock samples have been analyzed by variable geochemical techniques. These geochemical analyses are used to identify different geologic units in Oregon.</purpose>

    <attracc>
      <attraccr>Care was taken to limit categorical attribute errors. The accuracy of this data is dependent on (1) detail level (e.g. location information) of the source material and (2) interpretation procedures for capturing that source. Field checking of the data was not performed. No attempt was made to resolve known errors and NULL entries that reside in the source data.</attraccr>
    </attracc>
    <logic>Care was taken so that no duplicate features exist but that possibility remains. Point data are represented by a single set of coordinate pairs, given in decimal degrees. Because the data are from multiple sources, terminology varies and similar characteristics may be described differently. Attribute accuracy was not tested but a manual comparison was made by inspecting the original source for inconsistencies.</logic>
    <complete>The feature class contains point data for the purpose of representing rock geochemistry. It does not included rock geochemistry data stored in the U.S. Geological Surveys National Geochemical Database. Not all geochemical attributes were captured from the referenced source(s). Not all fields are attributed and samples may not contain complete major element and minor and trace element data. It is the users responsibility to determine/verify whether or not the major element data was normalized, and if so, normalized with Fe2O3, FeO, or with Fe2O3 and FeO.</complete>

        <horizpar>The source data, GILO-2, used many different sources variable in age and scale in its compilation. Therefor it has a highly variable horizontal positional accuracy throughout the state of Oregon.</horizpar>
