RAILO-1, Radiometric Age Information Layer for Oregon, Release 1, compiled by Tracy R. Ricker and Clark A. Niewendorp.
This map depicts the Radiometric Age Information Layer for Oregon, release 1
(RAILO-1) and shows locations and geologic ages of igneous and metamorphic rock
samples. RAILO-1 is a compilation of 2,325 radiometric ages from published and
unpublished reports by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries’
(DOGAMI), along with additional data compiled from other sources such as the U.S.
Geological Survey (USGS) and the journal Isochron/West. The compiled ages range
from 0.00005 million years to 291 million years.
RAILO-1 is provided in Microsoft® Excel® spreadsheet and Geographic Information
System (GIS) geospatial database formats. The location of each data point
shown in this map was not necessarily verified; refer to the original data source for
additional information about location and location uncertainty. Duplicate points
were removed when found. This map also includes a list of data sources (references)
from which the age information was gathered.

CD-ROM Contents
The publication CD contains:
1. "map" folder: Contains 1:1,000,000-scale (44- by 27-inch plate) mapview of RAILO-1 data in PDF format in both onscreen and high-resolution versions.
2. "shp" folder: Contains files in shape file format - native file format of ArcMAP GIS software by Esri, Redlands, California.
3. "spreadsheet" folder: Contains table in Microsoft Excel format. Please read the metadata for description of Field Names.
