As per this standard, this database contains: GeologicMap feature dataset, including the following feature classes: CartographicLines, ContactsAndFaults, GeologicLines, GeologicPoints, MapUnitPolys, OrientationPoints, and OverlayPolys; CrossSectionA feature dataset, including the following feature classes: CSACartographicLines, CSACartographicPoints, CSAContactsAndFaults, CSAGeologicLines, and CSAMapUnitPolys; CrossSectionB feature dataset, including the following feature classes: CSBCartographicLines, CSACartographicPoints, CSBContactsAndFaults, CSBGeologicLines, and CSBMapUnitPolys; Four non-spatial tables, including: DataSources, a list of sources for the content of the geodatabase; DescriptionOfMapUnits, a hierarchical list of map units, including complete descriptions and symbol information; Glossary, definitions for selected terminology used in the geodatabase; GeoMaterialDict, definitions and a hierarchy for GeoMaterial names prescribed by the GeMS database schema. The data contained in this geodatabase includes the 1:24000-scale geologic mapping of the Payette quadrangle, completed by Idaho Geological Survey and supported by the U.S. Geological Survey, National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program, under assistance Award No. G22AC00357. This geodatabase is compliant with the USGS GeMS (Geologic Map Schema) geodatabase standard (GeMS2020). The views and conclusions contained in this document are those of the authors and should not be interpreted as necessarily representing the official policies, either expressed or implied, of the U.S. Government.</abstract>
      <purpose>This geodatabase and the data contained within represents the most current mapping by Idaho Geological Survey staff and collaborators in the Payette quadrangle, western Idaho. Features were mapped at 1:24000. This geodatabase is compliant with USGS GeMS (Geologic Map Schema) geodatabase standards (https://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Info/standards/GeMS/).</purpose>
      <supplinf>IGS-DWM-215.gdb is a composite geodataset that conforms to "GeMS (Geologic Map Schema)--a standard format for the digital publication of geologic maps", available at http://ngmdb.usgs.gov/Info/standards/GeMS/. Metadata records associated with each element within the geodataset contain more detailed descriptions of their purposes, constituent entities, and attributes. An OPEN shapefile versions of the dataset is also available. It consists of shapefiles, DBF files, and delimited text files and retains all information in the native geodatabase, but some programming will likely be necessary to assemble these components into usable formats. These metadata were prepared with the aid of script GeMS_FGDC1_Arc10.py, version of version of 8 May 2023.</supplinf>
