      <attraccr>Probability of Permanent ground deformation is an estimate of the probability of ground failure that could occur at a site, given generalized geologic conditions and assumptions on site ground motion. In practice, local site variations may differ significantly from our generalized assumptions, such as anthropogenic modifications to surface water drainage.</attraccr>

    <logic>Known boundary conditions occur in the dataset, typically on 7.5-minute quadrangle boundaries, due to the heterogeneity of the geologic source data available for the study area. The Hazus AEBM model returns a permanent ground deformation and ground failure probability for a given peak ground acceleration, liquefaction susceptibility setting, and landslide susceptibility setting. We verified that the pointfile  outputs of the Hazus AEBM model were consistent with the continuous raster data generated by the tool used to generate this dataset (Sharifi-Mood and others).</logic>

        <procdesc>Geology data from Oregon Geologic Data Compilation (DOGAMI, 2015) was updated with mapped landslide information contained in Statewide Landslide Information Database for Oregon (DOGAMI, 2017). Geologic groups, including "existing landslides", were then categorized into A, B, C designations based on the groundwater level (wet scenario, dry scenario), as specified in Table 4.15 of the FEMA Hazus Earthquake Technical Manual (FEMA, 2011). Data were converted to a 10-ft raster grid for use in Hazus model.</procdesc>
        <procdesc>A raster slope surface of the study area was created from available lidar bare-earth surface elevation model, and where not available, from the USGS 10-meter DEM. Cell size was set to 10 ft.</procdesc>
        <procdesc>The two datasets in the previous process steps, and the site peak ground acceleration data for a Cascadia Subduction Zone M 9.0 earthquake (CSZ_M9p0_pga_site), were provided as inputs to the Soil Deformation tool developed by Sharifi-Mood and others. The tool returns permanent ground deformation (in cm) from earthquake-induced landslide, along with a probability of occurrence.</procdesc>
