This point feature class contains user defined facilities (UDFs) used to represent buildings in the multi-hazard risk assessment. This layer contains attributes describing properties of the UDF. It also contains Hazus results for flood scenarios. See the text from the report for technical information on methods and a discussion of results and interpretation.</abstract>
      <purpose>The purpose of this project is to provide communities with detailed risk assessment information to enable them to understand and compare hazards and act to reduce their risk. The risk assessment results quantify the consequences of natural hazards to each community and support the decision-making process in planning for disaster.</purpose>

      <attraccr>The building point (UDFs) information pertaining to building characteristics ("OccupancyClass", "OGC", "YearBuilt", "NumStories", "FirstFloorHT", "FoundationType", "SqFt") were derived from a spatial join to parcel geometry data and then a table join ("MAPTAXLOT") to the county assessor's data. While this is not a perfect process, it was the best available method for the purposes of this report. Inaccuracies and vagueness found within the assessor's database contributed to the necessity of following "rules of thumb" and making use of default values for  about 20 percent of the UDFs. Also inconsistencies between the number of structures on a given parcels shown in the assessor's data with the number of UDFs further complicated the joining of the table data (assessor's) with the spatial data (building points). A considerable amount of ground truthing using a variety of resources, as well as thorough review from knowledgeable personnel reduced the number of inaccuracies to an inconsequential level. The "eqDesignLevel" were derived from the "YearBuilt" and information regarding local seismic building codes. The "eqBldgType" was randomly assigned on a Census Tract basis from a script that based the distribution of building type to the UDF's from building inventory information stored in the Census Tract areas.  </attraccr>

        <procdesc>This point feature class was created from the centroids of the building footprints using a Polygon to Point GIS tool. Where building footprints were unavailable the centroid of the parcels containing structures were used in their place. UDF points were attributed through a two-step process. In the first step, UDF points were attributed with a Maptaxlot ID using a spatial join with the parcels layer. Using the Maptaxlot ID, the assessor's data is mapped to the UDF points. Sorting based on square footage is used to guide the assessor data to UDF point transference.  Hazard results were produced through Hazus analysis (Earthquake or Flood) or exposure analysis (Landslide and wildfire). This layer was generated using Esri ArcPro 3.3 software.</procdesc>
